Late World War II veteran gives $2.1M to 29 Siouxland charities 

A man few Siouxlanders knew left a giant mark on hundreds, perhaps thousands, of children on Monday as the bulk of his estate, valued at more than $2.1 million, was divided and awarded to 29 charitable organizations that work with children, 26 of them local entities.

City Council to consider first hour free parking ramp program 

Sioux City staff hope a proposed rate reduction at the city’s four downtown parking ramps will change motorists’ habits by appealing to their wallets.

For the second time this year, the City Council will discuss a proposal from parking operations staff to allow motorists to park in ramps for free during their first hour on a six-month trial basis.
