A South Jersey college student who sued her estranged parents for tuition lost a legal battle.

Should parents be forced to contribute to college tuition for their children? At first glance, one would think no, but unless the child is emancipated, married, has a child, or a like circumstance, financial aid is determined from the parent’s income. What if the parents are well off, won’t help, and the financial aid offered to the student isn’t enough?
